Introducing Cloud Nine Roasting Software: Built for How Roasters Actually Work

Most roasting software was built by engineers who roast occasionally. We built this the other way around.

If you’ve spent time at a roaster running Artisan or Cropster, you know the experience: powerful tools, but tools that ask a lot of you before they give anything back. Configuration overhead. Learning curves that punish the beginner. Interfaces that made sense a decade ago and haven’t changed much since.

Roast Profiler started as a way to run our own roastery better: tracking profiles, managing green coffee, and planning production without paying for, or fighting with, software built for someone else’s workflow. It’s what we use ourselves, every day, on our own roasts.

What It Does

Roast Profiler tracks your roast in real time: BT (bean temperature) and ET (environmental temperature) curves, rate of rise, and time markers for the events that matter, from charge and turning point through first crack and drop. It logs everything automatically, stores it by batch, and lets you pull up any past roast to compare against what you’re doing right now.

Beyond the roast screen, it also handles green coffee inventory by location, blend building with priority-based lot depletion, purchase and sales contracts, a supply chain view for tracking lots against harvest windows, and a daily schedule that pre-fills your save form. It imports existing profiles from Cropster, so switching over doesn’t mean losing your history.

What It Doesn’t Do (Yet)

Automatic sensor connection for legacy PLC and Phidget-based temperature probes is still being finalised. Manual roast logging is fully supported today and works with every other feature. Self-serve accounts for other roasteries, with billing, are still rolling out; right now we’re onboarding a small number of roasteries directly while we finish that piece properly rather than opening it up before it’s ready.

The decision to be upfront about what’s not finished was deliberate. The core roasting workflow, from tracking through logging, comparison, and export, needed to be right before anything else got added, and that’s where v1.0 is.

Who It’s For

Right now, that’s our own team and a handful of other roasteries we’re working with directly. If you run a roastery and you’re interested in using Roast Profiler for your own operation, get in touch. We’d rather onboard a few roasters properly than open the doors before the multi-roastery experience is genuinely ready.
